Ann Transplant 1998; 3(2): 19-21
Organ transplantation is being successfully carried out in most countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia . However, not all countries have laws that permit, regulate or foster transplantation in all its different aspects. Organ transplantation is not simply a complex operation: the use of legal and cadaver donors creates additional important ethical, legal, religious and philosophical concerns. There may exist conflicting interests or values, as well as a potential for abuse.
