Figure 6 Histological changes of small intestine related to hepatic ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury: In the IR group, the ilea showed severe congestion in the lamina propria with shortened villi. In the IR+milrinone group ilea, the villus architecture was preserved, and the congestion was decreased (A). The Park and congestion scores in the villi of the IR group were significantly higher than those of the sham group. These villus scores of the IR+milrinone group were significantly decreased as compared with those of the IR group.
