Transplantation of tissues, which for centuries had been a sort of a fantastic dream, then for decades was a failure, since the 1950's has become an efficient method of treatment. In certain cases it prolongs life, improving its quality in many others. Thanks to organ transplantation, patients are able to complete education, to enjoy sporting activities, or to bear children, all of which are the elements of a normal life. Transplantation in some instances becomes the last means which can change the dire course of an illness.
