Abstract
The Chief Editor of the Annals of Transplantation and I are both members of the World Health Organization's Task Force on Organ Transplantation. One of our functions there is to look ahead to see where transplantation is going in the foreseeable future. It has become obvious that the technical aspects of organ transplantation are adequately dealt with: a large number of immunosuppressive agents are on the horizon, as is the holy grail of specific immunological tolerance...
