The authors present the results of I00pancreatico-duodenal grafts placed extraperitoneally with the bladder drainage. The onset of pancreatic graft function was immediate in all cases and the patients became insulin free. Despite the extraperitoneal graft placement the incidence of surgical complications was low. The only exception was slightly impaired wound healing. The Authors claim that this surgical technique allows the elimination of intraperitoneal infection and easy performance of the graft biopsy.
